Pac-Man (Arcade 1980)
Plan routes and use power pellets in the original 1980 arcade maze.
KeyboardPlay
Play Ms. Pac-Man free online in your browser. This page runs the Midway arcade game through the Internet Archive player. Clear the dots while avoiding four ghosts; energizers briefly change the chase. There is no app or plugin to install, but the game and emulator still load over the network.
Choose Play now, then Click to Begin. Once the arcade has started, focus the game and press 5 for a virtual coin, then 1 for player one. Wait for the maze and READY screen. The character moves along corridors; use the arrow keys to change direction at a junction.
In a desktop source test, a right input reversed the character and the score rose from 70 to 80; left and up then moved her into the side corridor and the score reached 130. These are opening-maze checks, not a completed playthrough. If a turn does not happen, check for a wall or an unfocused player.
Ms. Pac-Man changes maze layouts as play progresses. The source describes bonus fruit that moves through the maze; the short test did not reach that event. Fruit is a bonus, while clearing dots remains the objective.
At the start, leave an escape route through the nearest junction. Do not rush after a distant bonus if a ghost can close the route behind you.
Large energizers make ghosts vulnerable temporarily. Use one when it opens a way out, not simply because it is nearby. The vulnerable interval ends, so turn toward safety before committing to a long chase.
Look ahead to the next opening and press a direction early. A requested turn takes effect only at an open passage; steering into a wall cannot create a shortcut.
Ms. Pac-Man uses multiple maze layouts and moving bonus fruit, unlike the original Pac-Man maze described on our original-game page. Do not assume an opening route memorized for that game will transfer.
Watch the ghosts and plan the next junction rather than relying on a fixed pattern. The short source test verified movement and score changes; later mazes and exact ghost behavior were not independently measured.
Coin, start, right, left and an upward turn were observed in the source. Down, controllers and extra players were not individually tested.

Desktop Chromium on macOS was used for the short source test on November 6, 2026. Internet Archive supplies the external player; wait for its resources and arcade startup.
Physical Android and iPhone/iPad have not been tested. Touch input, simultaneous touches, audio, rotation and fullscreen exit remain unverified.
If keys do not respond, click inside the player and close the Tab settings. Confirm a player-one game was started instead of watching the demonstration. Reloading can end the session; persistent scores and restored progress are unverified.

No. Steer through the maze; an energizer temporarily makes ghosts vulnerable.
Physical Android and iPhone/iPad testing has not been completed. Use the tested desktop keyboard route.
The tested title screen identifies Ms. Pac-Man and Midway and shows 1980/1981. The precise board revision has not been established. This is a separate maze game from the original 1980 Pac-Man, rather than a new name for the same board.
