Grand Theft Auto: Vice City follows Tommy Vercetti through an open-world city set in 1986. Explore on foot, enter vehicles and follow the story missions in this single-player browser version.
Select Play now, wait for the initial download, then choose Start Game and New Game in the game menu. Follow the opening mission to learn the map before exploring farther.
Use a desktop keyboard and mouse. Click inside the game to focus controls, and use the pause menu to review key bindings. Save at an available safehouse before closing the player.
Select Play now and allow the startup download to finish. When the game menu appears, choose Start Game, then New Game. The opening scenes introduce Tommy Vercetti and the first objective. Let them finish, or use the game’s skip control if you have already watched them. The browser page stays open while the game runs inside the player.
On your first trip, follow the marked objective instead of taking a long detour. Use the radar to keep track of the route and slow down at junctions. Learn the difference between moving on foot and steering a vehicle before starting a chase. If a key scrolls the page instead of controlling Tommy, click inside the game to return focus to the canvas.
Use WASD or the arrow keys to move, and F or Enter to enter a nearby vehicle. Once inside, the movement keys control driving. Leave space ahead when approaching traffic, corners and mission markers; a short burst of acceleration is easier to recover from than holding the throttle into an unfamiliar turn. Use the handbrake carefully because a sharp slide can point the car away from your route.
Check the radar and the current mission message before choosing where to go next. A wanted level can change an ordinary journey into a pursuit, so deal with immediate danger before concentrating on a distant destination. The pause menu gives you time to review options and controls. If performance becomes uneven, reduce graphics settings before trying a demanding driving sequence.
Opening this page does not download the game data. Play now starts the engine and an initial download of about 150 MB. Additional city models, textures, speech, effects and radio audio load when needed. The first visit therefore takes longer than a return visit with startup files in the browser cache. Keep the tab open while loading and use a stable connection; changing radio stations may also fetch more audio.
Save through the game’s safehouse save system when it becomes available. Saves use this site’s browser storage, and a favorite in the directory is separate from game progress. Use the same browser profile to return to your game. Private browsing, clearing site data or a browser storage eviction can remove local progress; a cloud backup is not provided. Closing or reloading the player ends the current session, so save first whenever possible.
The following controls are listed by the default PC control layout. Check the in-game instructions for remapping and additional actions.

Play now starts Vice City on this page. The initial download is about 150 MB; more resources load as you play. Desktop keyboard and mouse recommended. Saves stay in this browser profile.
Yes. Select Play now to load the browser player, then start a new game from its menu. A desktop browser with keyboard and mouse is recommended. Touch controls have not been verified.
The game needs its engine and startup files before showing the menu. About 150 MB loads initially; the remaining models and audio load during play. Cached startup files can reduce the download on later visits.
Click inside the game to give it focus and allow browser audio. Check the tab’s mute setting and the game’s audio options. Radio audio may need additional loading time on the first station change.
No cloud synchronization is provided. Local game saves belong to the current browser profile on wasmarcade.org. Save in the game and keep that browser’s site data when returning.
